How can you clean up an oil spill?

My husband decided it would be a great money saving idea to change his own oil in his car, but ended up tipping over the oil pan, spilling motor oil all over the street and sidewalk. I tried using %26quot;Dawn%26quot; and the garden hose to clean it up, but no luck. Can anyone recommend anything before our neighbors start to complain? THANKS!!!!How can you clean up an oil spill?

Get some cheap cat litter , a little bit of gasoline and a brush. Pour some gas on the oil and work it in with the brush. Then take the cat litter and spread it over the entire wet spot. Let it sit for an hour and then sweep it up. It will turn the concrete back to normal. How can you clean up an oil spill?
